Search via activity
Are you looking for specialists according to general categories like production planning, mechanical design, electronics, software, hardware, or quality management? All common engineering services have been organized into six main categories and about 60 subcategories in ACCESS. These are the “activities.” A click on one of the “activities” brings you directly to a list consisting of engineering services providers with the necessary expertise.
Search via keyword
Can your requirements be described by an abbreviation or combination of words, such as “EMV testing”? Then it would be convenient for you to use the keyword search! Clicking on a particular keyword shows you right away companies with this precise expertise. At the same time, only those company “activities” are listed which are relevant for the keyword. This means you won’t lose track of things and can easily compare various providers.
Search via ATA Chapter
Do you need a service provider who has experience with a particular ATA Chapter? Then you should use the ATA search. This yields for you the companies with expertise in precisely the desired ATA Chapter. And not only that: by clicking on a provider’s company profile you will find under the expertise tab only those “activities” forms for that company which specifically relate to the relevant ATA Chapter. This means you won’t lose track of things and can easily compare various providers.
Search via Company
Do you already have a favorite company in mind? Then with the company search you can locate a particular engineering services provider.
With a click on the logo or name of the company you get the detailed company profile with all the information provided.
Search via Combinations
“Search via combinations” is the most flexible search option in ACCESS. Are you looking for specialists who fill several requirements at the same time? For example, companies with experience in mechanical design, in ATA Chapter 53, and experience with CATIA V5, which are certified according to ISO 9100, and which are based in Munich, Germany? With the “via combinations” search you can combine criteria selected from 11 different menus for a customized search.
Comparison Table
The comparison table gives you an efficient overview of the expertise of the various engineering services providers selected for a particular “activity.” What is their precise service portfolio relating to this “activity”? In which aircraft programs did this service provider gain his experience? In the context of which ATA Chapters? What do the references say?
After this quick check it is however recommended to also have a look at the “company profile.” To do this, go back to the list of results and click on the company logo or name.
Company Profile
With the information included in the company profile you can obtain a good first impression of an engineering services provider.
The information is organized under six “tabs” as follows:
1. ADDRESS shows the company’s physical address and other general contact information.
2. CONTACT: All the contact data for your personal contact at the company, as well as the name of the CEO/managing director.
3. STANDARD INFO: A general overview of the company, such as customer branches, brief profile, legal status, VAT number, commercial register number, number of staff, turnover, company group membership, key customers, etc.
4. QUALITY INFO: A list of all the company’s certifications (e.g., ISO 9001) including possibilities to view the documentation, as well as a list of the standards under which the company can work (e.g., Do178B).
5. TOOLS: The table shows which tools (e.g., CATIA V5, DOORS) the company works with, how many staff members are trained in their use, and how many licenses are available in-house for them. The tools are grouped into four categories: “Analysis & Simulation & Test Tools,” “Design Tools,” “Software Development & Configuration & Data Management Tools,” “Documentation Tools.”
6. EXPERTISE: Here is a list of all the competencies forms. You gain an overview of the specific knowledge and experience of the engineering services provider regarding a specific activity and you can find out in which aircraft programs in the context of which ATA chapters this expertise was obtained.

The “expertise” forms are the heart of ACCESS aeronautics. Here is where engineering services providers describe what exactly is included in their performance portfolio for a particular “activity” and in which aircraft programs they obtained experienced in the context of which ATA Chapter. You can also have a look at the company’s references.
